Trunk or Treat

Mom and I went to Calgary to see the kids at Julie's wards Trunk or Treat. Ryan was a great sport wearing the giant Bee costume Mom & Becky found for him. Kelty was the cutest little bee. Jonathan made a fantastic penguin, he even had a little waddle in his walk. Kayleigh the parrot was far too fast for the camera to catch, but she was very cute as well.
Mom & I left before the Trunk or Treat part of the evening as it was getting late, but a good time was had by all.

Quilt for my frend Terasa

This quilt is a throw size, and is made out of flannel. The back is a white mink fabric (minky is a soft textured fabric) and is bound with purple satin. The pattern is called "Just Can't Cut It", for the large printed squares. This was a very fun quilt to make. I tied the quilt using various colours of ribbon that matched the colours in the quilt. This quilt was made at the end of September just prior to Terasa's surgery.

These are some quilted table runners that I made for Jen and Adam as a wedding gift.
Top- Valentines day (with skulls especially for Jen)
Middle-Fall/Thanksgiving
Bottom- Spring/Summer
I enjoy making table runners as they are generally quick and easy projects.

Jen & Adam's Wedding Flowers

Above is the Brides bouquet. I forgot to get pictures of the Bride and Groom, so if anyone has a nice shot of the Bride & Groom with the flowers could you please email me a copy. Thanks

In the Summer Time, When the Weather was HOT

I took my first solo road trip this past summer. I drove to Provo to visit Becky, Chris and Hallie! We had a great time. Beck and I took Hallie to a water park in Provo. As you can see from the pictures Hallie had a GREAT time, running in and out of the water and jumping off the side. She would have done that all day!!
We also went p to Provo Canyon with some friends of Becky & Chris. The smoores were very gooey and yummy!
Becky and I also had a very successful time shopping, especially at Joanne's ;)
It was a wonderful trip!
Thanks Becky & Chris

Ryan's Birthday

For Ryan's birthday I made him a cake to go with the Mexican theme of his party. The cake is a replica of the Mexican flag.

A Childhood favorite

I was in the store the other day and found this on DVD! Yes, it's THE RELUCTANT DRAGON!

Cindy & Kelty came over and watched it with me. Cindy could still quote most of the show:) The sad part was Morris the Midget Moose was not on this DVD. But I found it on you-tube.

James' New Toy

The Proud Owner

The Bike

So, James has finally purchased a motorcycle. It's a Honda, used but in excellent condition. Now instead of hearing about how much he wants a motorcycle, and its usefulness (gas savings) I hear about the weather and how its been too rainy to ride to work or after work. So, I'm hoping for some sunny weather so James can ride to his hearts content.

Please note: James does have a helmet (not a spear and magic helmet) but a motorcycle helmet that he uses whenever he rides. James was a great spot to pose for these pictures.

Spring Dresses

Another one of my latest projects has been to make Spring/Easter dresses for the girls. Hallie & Kayleigh got their dresses before Easter & Kelty had to wait until Mom &Dad went down to Mexico.
Guess which dress is for who!
I also sent the kids some Easter treats & little toys. Hallie enjoyed the Jelly Beans & the little plastic carrot they came in. Kayleigh preferred to dump the Jelly Beans on the floor and ask Julie to help her clean them up & put them back in the carrot. I'm planning to post pictures of the girls in the dresses, but am waiting for a picture of Kayleigh & Kelty.

The Science Center

Johnathan enjoying the toddler play area
Kayleigh measuring and pouring at the water table

Kayleigh the checkout girl
I took Julie and the kids to the Science Centre, we spent most of our time in WOW Town. Kayleigh loved the grocery store and spent most of her time playing there. She also enjoyed the water table and spent a fair bit of time at it. Johnathan had a great time, he was smiley the whole time and was happy to sit and crawl in the toddler play area.
We bought lunch at the Science Center and Kayleigh wanted a Slurpee for lunch, she also had a hot dog. During lunch there was a demonstration of the G-Force bike that goes upside down in a ring. Kayleigh was quite fascinated with this. Jonathan was more interested in lunch:)
A good time was had by all.

Hallie gets a visit from Grandma & Jana

Hallie in her Spring Dress

This was the best shot I could get as Hallie was running around all over the house. Mom and I es went down to Utah at the end of March to get her car, and visit with the Bissetts. I was able to take the Easter Present down to them. A Dress for Hallie and treats & fun stuff that was for Hallie, but may have been more fun for Becky & Chris. You can see proof of this on their facebook pages.

It's Freezing Out, But I Feel Like Spring

So today its -25 with a wind chill of -34. And I'm planning on staying inside all day. I have been feeling springy as of late. And have finally put together some of my floral projects that have been lying around for over a year. Yeah!

Kayleigh's Quilt

So these are a couple of pictures of the quilt I made for Kayleigh for Christmas. I was hoping to have it done by her birthday but no such luck. As she loves Curious George I incorporated him into the quilt. Ebay was quite useful in finding George fabric, very hard to find! The quilt has solid blocks with Curious George and blocks with pinwheels.

Our New Blog

Well, James & I have decided to join the world of family bloggers. Actually it's mostly me. But I will try to keep you upto date on James's adventures, most of which occur while quading.

As for me, things are relatively boring, but if you like to see my current projects, which lately have including quilting you may find this blog mildly interesting. I sort of see this blog as somewhat of a photo journal. And since I am terrible at journaling, I 'm hoping this medium may work better.
